The luxury car-maker Mercedes-Benz India is looking to revise its ex-showroom prices of the entire model range up to 3%, starting from January 1, 2025.
The company is doing this for several reasons including escalating material costs, fluctuating commodity pricing, among others.
Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India said, "Over the past three quarters, we have been facing increased pressure on our cost structure primarily driven by escalating material cost, fluctuating commodity pricing, increased logistics expenses and inflationary cost."
While the company has tried to absorb these pressures by optimizing operational costs and driving higher efficiencies, the overall bottom line is impacted.
"To ensure the sustainability of our business we have decided for a nominal price correction. This price correction will apply to those vehicles currently not in stock, offering price protection for all existing and future bookings until 31, December. Flexible financing options from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services will ensure optimal total cost of ownership for our customers," Santosh Iyer added.
Though the company is prepared to absorb a bulk of these costs, a very nominal portion of it will be passed on to the market.
Prices of Mercedes-Benz cars will be revised by Rs 2 lakh for the GLC to Rs 9 lakh for the top-end Mercedes-Maybach S 680 luxury limousine.
