Tata Motors passenger vehicle sales decline 6% in July

Tata Motors Passenger vehicle division has recorded degrowth consecutively for the second month. The PV division recorded a 6 per cent decline in July 2024.

Tata Motors PV sales: Tata Motors Limited recorded retail sales of 71,996 units in July 2024. This consists of their passenger vehicle sales along with the commercial vehicle sales. The total passenger vehicle retail sales for July were recorded at 44,954 units, which was 6 per cent lower on a year-on-year basis. Considering the retail sales of June 2024, the passenger vehicle category recorded a marginal growth of approximately 3 per cent on a month-on-month basis.

Tata Motors has recorded retail sales of 70,161 units in domestic regions, but marked a decline of 11 per cent, having a difference of 8,683 units as compared to the same period last year. Retail sales fell by 3,986 units on a month-on-month basis in the domestic region, recording a 5.41 per cent decline.

The retail sales of Tata Motors passenger vehicles division stood at 44,954 units. These retail sales include their electric vehicle sales as well. The domestic retail sales of passenger vehicles in July stood at 44,725 units, recording a 6 per cent decline. The electric vehicle division of Tata Passenger Vehicles recorded 5,027 units, which was approximately 1,302 units less than the previous year, registering an approximate degrowth of 21 per cent.

The commercial vehicle segment also recorded a massive decline of approximately 18 per cent in July 2024. The domestic retail sales for the commercial vehicle segment in July were recorded at 25,436 units, registering a 19 per cent degrowth on a year-on-year basis. The exports for the commercial vehicle segment stood at 1,606 units, having a marginal decline of approximately 7 per cent on a year-on-year basis. As compared to June 2024, the domestic sales of the commercial vehicle division fell short by 5,187 units, registering a fall of approximately 16.9 per cent. Overall combining the exports and the domestic sales of the commercial vehicle division, there was a dip of 4,938 units resulting in a decline of 15 per cent.

Despite a degrowth in sales in passenger vehicle and commercial segments, the auto manufacturer is all set to launch the Tata Curvv and Tata Curvv.EV in India on August 7, 2024.
