Top five hatchbacks with highest sales in September 2024

Hatchbacks with highest sales: The hatchback segment saw a decline in sales in September 2024. As per the data from SIAM, the hatchback segment sales plunged with the surge in demand for micro-SUVs. Coming to the top position on the sales chart, it is secured by Maruti Suzuki and recorded both growth and decline for its different models in its lineup. Hyundai Motor India Limited managed to be at the top five position of the sales chart. Let us look at the top five hatchbacks with the highest sales in September 2024:

Maruti Suzuki Swift:

The Maruti Suzuki Swift was at the first position on the sales chart. Swift recorded total sales of 16,241 units in September 2024. The Maruti Suzuki Swift saw a growth of 10.46 per cent on a year-on-year basis. Additionally, Swift also saw a 26.45 per cent growth on a month-on-month basis.  

Maruti Suzuki Baleno:

The Baleno from Maruti Suzuki was on the second position on the sales chart of hatchback segment. Baleno registered total sales of 14,292 units in September 2024. It saw a decline in sales by 22.40 per cent on a year-on-year basis. On the other side, Baleno saw a growth of 14.47 per cent on a month-on-month basis. 

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R: 

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R secured the third position on the sales chart of the hatchback segment. It saw total sales of 13,339 units in September 2024. Wagon R recorded a decline of 17.91 per cent on a year-on-year basis. Additionally, there was a decline of 18.91 per cent in sales on a month-on-month basis. 

Maruti Suzuki Alto:

The Alto from Maruti Suzuki secured the fourth position on the sales chart of hatchback segment. It registered total sales of 8,655 units in September 2024. The Maruti Suzuki Alto saw a growth of 11.09 per cent on a year-on-year basis and a surge of 1.28 per cent on a month-on-month basis. 

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios: 

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios secured the fifth position on the sales chart of hatchback segment, Grand i10 Nios saw total sales of 5,103 units in September 2024. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios registered a decline of 2.30 per cent on a year-on-year basis and a decline of 4.88 per cent on a month-on-month basis.
