Apple CEO Tim Cook announces BIG India move: Four new stores coming soon
Apple CEO Tim Cook has announced ambitious plans for India. According to the quarterly results announcement, the company has witnessed high sales of iPhones.
Apple's expanding India footprint: Apple CEO, Tim Cook has announced his bullish stance on India and made a mega announcement that India could have at least four more Apple stores in the coming quarters.
During an investor call, Tim Cook revealed that Apple has set an all-time revenue record for iPhone in India. “We can’t wait to bring four new stores to customers in India,” said the Apple CEO.
According to Cook’s statement, it was not just the iPhone performing well in India but the iPad too which Cook said has drawn a double-digit growth in the country. Cook has announced that Apple is likely to expand its retail presence in India.
“We continue to be excited by the enthusiasm we are seeing in India, where we set an all-time revenue record.”
Currently, Apple has two stores in India – the Mumbai store at BKC and the Apple Saket store in New Delhi.
The likely destinations for the four new stores are Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, and Delhi-NCR.
Apple’s sales figures have bucked the trend of global inflationary pressures, and the brand has performed with record revenues in every geographic segment.
Tim Cook claimed, “We also set September quarter segment revenue records in the Americas, Europe, and the rest of Asia Pacific, as well as in a large number of countries, including the United States, Brazil, Mexico, France, the UK, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia and the UAE,” said Cook.
Cook posted a record revenue for Apple of $94.6 billion, up 6% year over year.
The entire Apple products revenue stood at $70 billion. The revenue from iPhone alone was around $46 billion, the company’s quarterly report revealed. Apple cracked the Indian market with its foray into direct retail via its brand stores a year ago when Tim Cook visited India amidst much fanfare.
