Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana: As Mahayuti Returns, A Look At The Scheme For Women - Details
Under the scheme, eligible women aged between 21 and 65 will receive Rs 1,500 monthly through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into their bank accounts.
Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana: As Maharashtra gears up for a massive return of the Mahayuti alliance, one of their headline promises, the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, has become a focal point of their governance agenda.
What is the scheme all about?
Under the scheme, eligible women aged between 21 and 65 will receive Rs 1,500 monthly through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into their bank accounts. With a budgetary allocation of Rs 46,000 crore the initiative is designed to support marginalised women, including widows, single mothers, and divorcees, providing them with financial independence and stability.
The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana offers coverage to women from economically weaker sections, with a family income below Rs 2.5 lakh annually. However, women who are paying income tax or those employed in government jobs are not eligible for this scheme.
Similarly, families with retired government employees, four-wheeler owners (except for tractors), or those who have current or former MPs or MLAs in their family are excluded from eligibility.
How can one apply?
To apply, applicants need to provide essential documents like Aadhaar, income certificate, bank passbook, and a recent photograph. These documents can be submitted either online through the official website or offline at government service centres.
For the online application, individuals can visit the official portal (ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in), create an account, and fill in their personal and family details, along with uploading the necessary documents. Once the form is completed, applicants can submit it and receive a unique application ID for tracking.
Additionally, there is an offline option where applicants can visit the nearest Women and Child Development Department office or government centre, complete the form, and submit the required documents in person.
The application process can also be completed through the Narishakti Doot App, which is available for download on mobile app stores. This app allows users to self-register, fill in the form, upload documents, and track the status of their applications.
Don't miss this…
One important requirement for receiving the monthly benefits is linking an Aadhaar card with a bank account. Beneficiaries can do this either online through their bank’s net banking portal or by visiting the bank branch and submitting an Aadhaar linking form. Once the Aadhaar is linked, the financial assistance will be transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account every month.
The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is expected to impact over 30 lakh women across Maharashtra.
