EPFO Pension Scheme: Key Meeting On February 11, Check Update
Over 1.7 million applications have been submitted for higher pension benefits under EPS 1995.

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation ( EPFO ) has issued 21,885 Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) and sent demand notices to 165,621 eligible members, requesting additional contributions for higher pension benefits.
Minister of State for Labour & Employment, Shobha Karandlaje, reported that 1,748,768 EPFO members and pensioners have applied for higher pension benefits under the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS) of 1995. This scheme allows members to receive a higher pension by contributing more during their service.
EPFO: Issuance of Demand
As of January 28, EPFO has processed and issued 21,885 PPOs (pension payment orders). Additionally, demand notices have been sent o 165,621 members, informing them of the additional amounts required to qualify for higher pension benefits. Meanwhile, 21,885 pension payment orders have been processed and issued.
The resolution of pending cases is under close supervision. clarifications have been provided to field offices to expedite applicant processing. The administration of higher pension benefits is based on the Supreme Court's decision dated November 4, 2022.
EPFO: Online Application System
To facilitate the process, EPFO introduced an online system for filing validation and joint option applications on February 26, 2023. The deadline for employ toubmit joint applications has been extended multiple times, with the final deadline set for Jary1, 2025.
