In an inspiring gesture, Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of the Mahindra Group, recently gifted a Mahindra SUV to 17-year-old paralympic archer, Sheetal Devi, celebrating her remarkable perseverance, determination, and resilience. Mahindra's admiration for Sheetal's spirit and achievements has been evident, as he has long been impressed by her talent. After meeting her in person, he expressed his profound admiration for not only her, but for her entire family.

A Family Of Determination

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Mahindra said, “Speaking to her mother and sister, it was clear that it runs in the family!"

She won two gold medals and one silver at the 2022 Asian Para Games, but her achievements didn’t stop there. At the Paris Paralympics in September, she earned a bronze medal in the mixed team compound event in archery.

Mahindra's Tribute to Sheetal's Determination

In his post, Mahindra shared, "I have long admired @archersheetal’s talent from afar. Meeting her in person, I was struck by her remarkable determination, tenacity, and focus." He added that she is an inspiration to all, praising her resilience despite facing immense challenges.
During their meeting, Sheetal also gifted Mahindra an arrow — a token representing her identity as an archer who is unbound by limitations. Mahindra described it as a "truly priceless" gift.

Global Recognition And Triumphs

Partnering with Rakesh Kumar in the mixed team compound archery event at Paris Paralympics in September last year, Sheetal Devi secured a bronze medal for India. The pair won against Italy’s Matteo Bonacina and Eleonora with a nail-biting 156-155 victory. Their achievement was truly remarkable as they matched the Paralympic record set by Turkiye  in 2021, consolidating their status as elite athletes. In addition to this achievement, Sheetal had already made her mark at the 2022 Asian Para Games, where she won two gold medals and one silver.
