Indian Railways Unveils SwaRail App: Key Features, Usage Guide, And Details
This super app has been developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS).

Indian Railways announces a new app, 'SwaRail', for citizens. It will offer various services and is being promoted as a one-stop solution for all railway-related inquiries and services. This super app has been developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), a body responsible for developing functionality softwares for Railways under the Ministry of Railways.
"Dear User, your wait is over! Indian Railways is offering its SuperApp for Beta Testing. The Indian Railways SuperApp is a one-stop solution, offering multiple public-facing services of Indian Railways" CRIS mentioned in a post.
What Is 'SwaRail’ SuperApp
Until now, users had to download multiple apps to access different railway services, such as IRCTC for reserved tickets, UTS for unreserved tickets, and others. However, with this app, the government aims to provide these multiple services under one roof. With seamless processing and a simple, clean user interface (UI), it will enhance the user experience. It will also help users reduce the number of apps on their devices, freeing up space.
According to PIB, "‘SwaRail’ SuperApp provides seamless access to ticket booking, platform tickets, PNR enquiries, food ordering, Rail Madad, and freight services."
The app will offer multiple services, including:
- Reserved ticket bookings
- Unreserved ticket and platform ticket bookings
- Parcel and freight enquiries
- Train and PNR status enquiries
- Food orders on trains
- Rail Madad for complaint management
How Will It Work?
Currently, the app is in beta testing, and the government is inviting users to experience the app and share feedback so that the government can use it to improve the app’s functionality and services. Although the app cannot be downloaded now as the early access program is full. Once testing is complete, the app will be available for all users on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
The app allows users to sign up using their existing RailConnect or UTS on mobile credentials. After registration, these credentials can be used across both platforms. The single sign-on feature eliminates the need to remember multiple passwords.
