The voter turnout in Jharkhand was 68.45% as of 11:30 PM, according to the Election Commission of India.
The 81-member Jharkhand Assembly concluded its assembly elections on November 20, 2024. The counting for votes will take place in two phases and is scheduled for November 23, 2024.

Who Are The Contenders?
The Jharkhand elections were a close power-play between INDIA bloc candidates and the BJP. The state saw closely contested seats, with Chief Ministers as well as their relatives. Among the list of contenders were Chief Minister Hemant Soren, contesting from the JMM with his wife Kalpana Soren, and brother, Basant Soren.
CM Hemant Soren's sister-in-law, Sita Soren, stood as BJP's candidate.
There were several other figures like Purnima Das Sahu, who is the daughter-in-law of former Chief Minister and current Odisha Governor Raghuvar Das, among others.
What Did The Exit Polls Predict?
In the 81-seater Jharkhand Assembly, the party/ alliance, which secures 41 seats or more can form the government.
In Jharkhand, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the BJP is projected to return to power. It may be noted that the Maharashtra Assembly has 288 seats and the winning party/ alliance will have to cross the 144-seat mark in order to form a government in the state.

The counting of votes under the Maharashtra Assembly Election Result 2024 and Jharkhand Assembly Election Result 2024 will take place on November 23, 2024.
