“Maharashtra elections are opposite to our expectations.There is no doubt that we could have done better. At the same time, however, we are happy that we have performed well in Jharkhand and we are going to repeat our government there.” said Congress leader Supriya Shrinate, as reported by ANI.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has gained a comfortable lead of 34,118 votes over his nephew and NCP (SP) candidate Yugendra Pawar in the early rounds of counting in the Baramati assembly constituency. After round seven of counting, the NCP chief, seeking an eighth term from Baramati, has polled 65,211 votes against his debutante nephew's 31,096, as reported by ANI.

Talking to reporters, BJP MLC Darekar said, “Based on the current trends, I believe that the BJP will be the single largest party and Devendra Fadnavis should become the chief minister. The election was contested under his leadership, and he called for a 'dharma yuddha' in these assembly polls.” Reported ANI

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has emerged as a surprise element in the Jharkhand assembly elections with its candidates leading in five of the six seats where the party is contesting, according to trends available on the Election Commission's website on Saturday. RJD candidates in five assembly seats were leading over sitting BJP legislators, PTI reported.
 

"They have done some 'gadbad', they have stolen some of our seats. This cannot be the public's decision. Even the public does not agree with these results. Once the results are out, we will talk more. In every election seat, money-counting machines were installed. Is it possible that Shinde will get 60 seats, Ajit Pawar will get 40 seats and BJP will get 125 seats? The people of this state are not dishonest. We have their faith in the people of Maharashtra," Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut told media persons in Mumbai, as reported by ANI.

The counting for assembly elections in Maharashtra is underway, and early trends show NCP candidate Sana Malik leading in the Anushakti Nagar constituency. As of 10 30 am, INDI is leading with 50 seats, NDA is at 29, and Others at 2, in Jharakhand

Congress leader Rakesh Sinha exuded confidence saying that the results will be in favour of the ‘Mahaghathbandhan in Jharakhand.’ Sinha also said BJP would be reduced to just 7-8 seats in Jharkhand since the people of the state will not accept a party that raises slogans like ‘Batoge toh Katoge.’  Speaking to ANI, Sinha said, "The results will come in our favour. People have shown their support, love and blessings to the candidates of 'Mahaghathbandhan'. The public in Jharkhand has said that they are not going to accept people like those who raise slogans like 'Batoge toh Katoge.'
 

Early trends in Maharashtra's 2024 Assembly Elections show the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance in the lead as of 9:10 AM on Saturday. As per initial results, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena is leading in nine seats, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in eight, and the BJP in 10 seats, ANI reported.
 

BJP candidate and former Jharkhand Chief Minister, Champai Soren said on Saturday that there is no doubt that the BJP is going to win in the assembly polls in the state and it will be clear in the next few hours.
Speaking to ANI, Soren said, "BJP is going to win, there is no doubt. BJP-NDA is going to form the government...People have voted in favour of the BJP."
 

Ahead of the counting of votes for the 2024 Jharkhand assembly elections, Congress leader Rajesh Thakur on Saturday said that the election result would also bring out the result of the work they have done. He expressed that the alliance in the state would form an even stronger government once again. 
"From what I understand, the result of the work we did will be out today," Thakur said, ANI reported.
