PM Modi In Nigeria, Thanks President Tinubu For ‘Memorable Visit'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in Nigeria, visiting the country, as part of a three-nation tour to strengthen ties between India and Nigeria.

In this tour the PM Modi would also be visiting Brazil and Guyana.
"At the invitation of H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, this will be my first visit to Nigeria, which is our close partner in the West African region. My visit will be an opportunity to build upon our Strategic Partnership that is based on shared belief in democracy and pluralism. I am also eagerly looking forward to meeting the Indian community and friends from Nigeria who have sent me warm welcome messages in Hindi," the Prime Minister said in a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs before his departure from Delhi.
Consequently, the Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu took to the social media platform X to say that he was looking forward to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first visit to, which was also the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Nigeria since 2007.
The bilateral discussions between the two leaders will be about strengthening partnerships and enhancing cooperation in critical sectors.
After having visited the country PM Modi posted some glimpses of his welcome in Abuja, Nigeria and met the Marathi community there as they collectively expressed joy at Marathi being conferred the status of a Classical Language there.
He later took to X to appreciate how "truly commendable" it was to see them "remain connected to their culture and roots."
