In a circular issued by the Prime Minister of Dominica on the 13th of November, The Commonwealth of Dominica will bestow its highest national award, the Dominica Award of Honour on Prime Minister Narendra Modi ,  in recognition of his contributions to Dominica during the COVID-19 pandemic and his dedication to strengthening the partnership between India and Dominica.

What is Dominical Award Of Honor?

It is the highest civilian award of the Commonwealth of Dominica. The award is established under The Meritorious Service Act Chapter 19:09 of the Revised Laws of Dominica. The award is conferred each year on the 3rd of November by the President. 'The Dominica Award of Honour' has the highest recognition under this Act. While the medal is not awarded every year, each President of Dominica is bestowed with that honour. Some of its previous recipients include Sister Alicia de Tremmerie - ICM Sister, Arch Bishop Kelvin Felix, CARICOM, Mrs. Elizabeth (Ma Pampo) Israel (deceased), Mr. E. O Leblanc (deceased), among others.
