Video quality controls
With today's update, the video player in Telegram will automatically select the video quality of the video being uploaded based on a user's network connection to save data and load videos faster. Additionally, users will also be able to select the video quality manually for the videos that they upload on the platform. Available options include -- high, medium and low.
Additionally, the company announced that users on weaker connections will automatically get more compressed videos, while those with high-speed internet will be able to watch video in full resolution.
PiP mode improvements
Telegram has also introduced improvements to the PiP mode on iOS. The company says that users can now swipe up to watch a video in PiP mode and browse their chats at the same time.
Playback speed options
Telegram has also announced improvements to the video playback speed tool. In its post, the company said that users can now 'hold down on the right side of a video to activate 2x speed and slide right gradually to increase the speed to up to 2.5x' on iOS. Android users, on the other hand, can double-tap on the left or right side of the video to skip 10 seconds in either direction.
More media sharing options
Telegram has also announced a new feature that will let users attach a photo or a video to a text message after sending it. Users will also be able to edit the sent media to re-edit photos or replace media in the message.
