BMW R12 and R12 nine T hits Indian roads
BMW Motorrad India has launched the BMW R12 and R12 Nine T as completely built units (CBUs) in India and the deliveries will commence from September 2024.

Design:
The R12 is designed as a cruiser motorcycle whereas R12 Nine T is a roadster, offering a classic design. The BMW R 12 nineT and the R 12 are built on a common base with a one-piece tubular spaceframe, an airbox positioned flat under the seat, and an angled spring strut. The rear end is short and compact. As compared to its predecessor, the fuel tank is 30 mm shorter and narrow at the rear, which results in improved ergonomics and a more front-oriented seating position.
The BMW R 12 steel tank, has the typical design language of a cruiser in a classic teardrop shape. The R 12 nineT has smoke-lens turn indicator lights at the rear, while the R 12 has integrated functional turn indicator lights.
Engine
The R12 and R12 NineT model comes equipped with an air/oil-cooled boxer engine. The R12 NineT has a higher state of tune from the engine. It is a 1.2-litre boxer engine that produces 109 BHP and 115 Nm of torque. On the other hand, R12 produces 95 BHP and 110 Nm of peak torque.
Suspension
The R 12 nineT and R 12 come equipped with upside-down telescopic forks with a 45 mm slider tube diameter. The rear suspension of the R 12 nineT has a Paralever swinging arm combined with a directly linked sprint strut.
Safety Features
The R 12 models are equipped with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), standard engine drag torque control, and Tyre Pressure Control. The adaptive Headlight Pro light system is standard in both models. The Keyless Ride system replaces the ignition lock on the new R 12 models.
