Land Rover Defender Octa with bigger dimensions sees India launch

JLR’s Bigger SUV:- The Defender Octa is one of the most powerful iterations of the Land Rover Defender lineup and has announced the launch of this high-performance SUV. Since it is based on the platform of the Defender 110, the manufacturer has stated that the Defender Octa Edition One, in its first year of production is available for an ex-showroom price of Rs. 2.65 crore.
As per the spokesperson, the deliveries of the Defender Octa will commence soon, and have not revealed the exact timeline. The Land Rover Defender Octa will make its first public appearance at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speeds, which is scheduled from 11-14 July.
The Design
The Land Rover Defender Octa is based on the Defender 110 and comes equipped with distinct visual elements, enhancing its design. The wheel arches are extended, ground clearance is raised and the wide stance offers an imposing road presence.
The manufacturer claims that the SUV will come with deeper water-wading capabilities. It will have new paint shades for the exterior, Petra Copper and Faroe Green. It will be running on all-terrain tires along with 20-inch forged alloy wheels.
The Interiors
Keeping in mind the exterior updates, the interior is also updated in the Defender Octa. It gets a new Khaki and Ebony Ultrafabrics. The manufacturer stated that the seats have been designed and developed in collaboration with music industry experts so that the driver and passenger could feel and hear the music.
The Powertrain
As per the sources, the manufacturer is claiming that it will take Defender 110 capability to a new level. It will be powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine with mild hybrid technology, making it the most powerful Defender ever. Talking about performance output, it would churn out 626 BHP and 750 Nm of peak torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with low and high-range gears. As per the resources, it will do a 0-100 km/h sprint in just four seconds.
